Introduction to Augmented Reality Using Spark AR

 Please join aabijijiwan New Media Lab for an online workshop on Augmented Reality Using Spark AR led by artist Dallas Flett-Wapash. In this Zoom workshop, Dallas will cover the following:

·      The fundamentals of Augmented Reality (Video)

·      The fundamentals of Spark AR

·      Making a Face Filter (like those on Snapchat, or Stories)

·      Testing on your phone

·      Projecting a 3D Model on the table or floor

We ask that participants download the free software Spark AR in advance of the workshop: https://sparkar.facebook.com/ar-studio/. You will require a Facebook or Instagram account to run the software.

This workshop has a capacity of 18 participants. We kindly ask that you only register if you are certain you can attend. If you register and are no longer able to attend, please let us know via email so we can give your spot to someone else. Please email us if you would like to be put on the waitlist.

About the Artist:

Dallas Flett-Wapash is an Ininew/Seaulteax digital artist working with video game design, expanded reality, and other interactive technologies. His practice is an ongoing digital reconstruction of his cultural identity – including cosmology, culture, language, and lifestyle – using video game aesthetics. He has taught digital arts workshops for many arts and educational organizations. Recent exhibitions include In:Site; at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba, and DAiR v1: Video Games by Artists at the Mackenzie Art Gallery.

Flett-Wapash is currently undertaking a residency at the aabijijijwan New Media Lab.
